Growing Resilience: Learn Practical Resilience Building Strategies & Teach Your Kids How To “Bounce Back” From Life’s Challenges
February 20 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Find out how you can increase your child’s resilience and help them navigate life’s challenges by attending BeBOLD’s (Bedford – Building Our Lives Drug-free) monthly Speaker Series Event on Wednesday, February 20th from 7-8pm at the Bedford Public Library in the McAllaster Room. This event is open to parents and guardians.
Dr. Carolyn Morgan, a clinical psychologist and Co-Founder of “Growing Resilience”, will outline how to increase your child’s ability to “bounce back” from challenges, stress, adversity and trauma. Dr. Morgan’s “Growing Resilience” program offers two types of workshops, one for teens and one for parents. This presentation for BeBOLD will cover practical resilience building strategies based on her “Growing Resilience” workshops.
“When children are resilient, they are more adaptable, better problem solvers, better at regulating their emotions, more optimistic in their thinking and see themselves as competent and compassionate individuals who can make a difference in their own lives as well as in the lives of others. Resiliency can also promote higher psychological function and decrease vulnerability to mental illness and substance abuse,” notes Dr. Morgan.
