Dear Supporter-
As we end the 2019 school year, I feel compelled to reach out to the Bedford community and thank them for supporting BeBOLD and our efforts to educate our community on the drug and alcohol prevention epidemic we are facing in our State, our community, our schools and our lives.
As I reflect back on what we have done this past year, I know there is still MUCH MORE to accomplish. BeBOLD will continue our mission to educate our kids and parents with hopes that not ONE Bedford child or parent will suffer from the effects of drugs and alcohol abuse.
This year was a stellar year for BeBOLD. We kicked off the school year with Red Ribbon Week and partnered with businesses, the Bedford School District and community members to build awareness and bring Bedford together in creating awareness and prevention.
We hope you will support us again in the Fall!
Here are some of the ways BeBOLD worked hard to achieve our goals:
We held Speakers Series at the Bedford Library every month, which focused on such topics as:
- Vaping
- Marijuana Legalization Issues
- Social Liability/Hosting Parties with Alcohol
- Building Resilience In Your Teen
- The Youth Risk Behavior Survey Results & What They Mean for Bedford
- It Can Happen To Any Family – Two Brothers & Police Officers Share Their Journey
- One Of Our Own – Jenna Collins – Bedford HS Student & Her Path To Recovery
We helped at risk students at our various schools by providing scholarships & access to FREE after school activities;
We partnered with the PTG for “Stand By Me” and the Lynn Lyons presentation on “The Gift of Failure”;
We participated in numerous events including Olde Towne Day, Voting Day, Witch Way to the 5K and many more.
But none of these programs can happen with out YOUR support! I would like to thank the many businesses and community partners that help support BeBOLD!
